[Translators] Regression in the Mac menu?

I'm struggling to stay calm right now.

I have a Mac for testing because I run several dozen localization 
projects for our locale. I also run Ubuntu on another system and two 
version of Windows on other systems. I did not buy it because I want a 
Mac. I bought it so I can do testing, make screenshots and write user 
guides for non-developers who might be interested in using software in 
our language.

It IS an issue for VLC developers because locale support is NOT what 
most everyday users consider when buying hardware. It's usually just a 
hard landing when they find out it doesn't work. I mean, if you're going 
to take that attitude, why bother with VLC anyway, you can just use 
Media Player or iTunes... I hadn't realised usability had suddently 
become the users problem.

Clearly not because Windows has a manual selection menu - and long may

Am I not making myself clear? How can you configure OS locale settings 
(even if users knew what that was) if the OS does not support the 
locale??? Hack the system?

Excuse me for not only considering usability for my own locale but for 
other locales too. Most of us who work in l10n for small to medium 
languages handle multiple projects and on the whole, once we know a 
localized program 'works' for the locale, we maintain the translation 
best as we can. We tend not to have the time to re-test for every update 
just in case something that worked before has suddently be rendered 
unusable via regression.

As Felix pointed out, the code DOES exist... it was removed. By someone 
who speaks a language fortunate enough to be supported by the OS in 
question I would guess.
