[x265] Editing solution

Rather the first method: Edit the raw footage, then send the result as
uncompressed (raw YUV 4:2:0) video stream to x265. Editing the encoded
result is close to impossible yet.

Or rather ... first learn about HEVC in general. Will the target playback
device be able at all to decode it? And are you willing to spend maybe a
day of encoding per hour of material? Consider well if you really need
HEVC as result at all. Encoding to AVC with x264 is currently still a lot
more convenient and compatible with many more playback devices.

Even though realtime encoding may be possible, you would probably not use
a normal PC to do so. The advantage of x265 running on a PC (or across
several PCs) may be the efficiency measured as quality retention per
bitrate, but it will take a lot more encoding time than any other encoding
algorithm before if you allow it to work with sensible efforts.
